Research Topic

With a background education in computer science engineering, I am now turning my focus on the Interaction between Humans and Technology. The main topic of my research is non-visual human-computer interaction, including tactile and sound feedback, and their uses for blind and visually-impaired people, as well as their benefits for other users.

Having for focus the non-visual interaction opens perspectives both for the human interaction with technology (gestures, tactile and sound interaction), and for innovative uses of technology in itself.

In my licentiate thesis, the benefit of using the Activity Theory framework for evaluating a mobile tourist guide has been explored.

Current Projects

I am part of two projects. They enable me to work both on mobile contexts (phone) and stationary platforms (computer at desk).

HIPP - An audio-haptic drawing application for school work

Haptimap - Haptic, Audio and Visual Interfaces for Maps and Location Based Services
