Björn Breidegard at Certec is the driving force behind what he calls "dream machines" – a collective term for for computer based assistive technology for people with disabilities. Last year's research was financed by Sparbanken Finn's Future Foundation – a contribution of 1,300,000 SEK.
"Dream machines help with the kinds of things most of us do without a thought – answering "yes" or "no" to questions, using a shopping list at the grocery store, choosing the music we want to listen to, or letting others know what we want. But for people with disabilities, these can be considerable challenges," according to Björn Breidegard.
